EPOS support – why service is all that matters

With the UK in recession and unemployment topping two million, the hospitality industry needs to ensure they are able to attract and keep customers. Brian Norman, Managing Director at Vista Retail Support, says that reliable EPOS systems play an important part in maintaining customer satisfaction.

Vista Retail Support offers leg up to SA Brains Kilimanjaro charity climber

Vista is pledging its support to an SA Brains employee preparing to tackle Kilimanjaro.

Vista Retail Support has pledged its support to an SA Brain’s employee who is joining a party that includes 15 former Welsh rugby captains who will be climbing Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, in September.

Ogwen Evans, IT Projects Manager at SA Brain’s is part of the Brain SA Captains Climb team, seeking to raise £1 million of fundraising. The Cardiff-based independent EPOS maintenance services company is sponsoring Ogwen in her efforts and their sponsorship has allowed Ogwen to purchase some of her much needed kit for the trip including: sleeping bag, backpack, thermal sleepwear, base layer tops and base layer bottoms.

The event is the brainchild of Welsh rugby team sports photographer Huw Evans, whose wife Sue was recently diagnosed with, non-smoking related lung cancer. Huw and his family have set themselves a £1 million fundraising target, with all money raised going towards the Stepping Stones Charity at Velindre Hospital in Cardiff.

Ogwen Evans said, “I’m excited at the challenge of tackling Kilimanjaro. Since finding out last November that I’ll be taking part in the climb I’ve been going to the gym regularly, using a personal trainer and I’ve also taken part in the Vale of Glamorgan walking festival and tackled Ben Nevis with my Dad. It’s great to be raising money for a charity which is so important to the local community and I’m also grateful to Vista for their generous support.”

Velindre Cancer Centre launched The Stepping Stones Appeal in January to raise the profile of lung cancer research in Wales, and to raise the money necessary to fund and expand research projects. Nearly 2,000 people are newly diagnosed with lung cancer in Wales each year.

Richard Olds, CEO at Vista Retail Support, said, “We’re delighted to be providing support to Ogwen in what is a very worthwhile cause. We’d like to wish her the best of luck."

In addition to the headline sponsorship, Brains pubs, employees and customers have already raised a further £20,000 in sponsorship so far and people wishing to sponsor can do via: www.justgiving.com/BrainsWalks  and businesses can still sponsor her kit at: www.VelindreWalks.com. Her 7-day trek begins on September 8th.
